This year I’ve had a hard time keeping the critters out of my garden. I planted so many marigolds that it’s a sea of yellow and orange and it just wasn’t enough. Birds, raccoons, possums and rabbits were making a buffet out of my newly sprouted seedlings. It was disheartening to nurture a small plant and to come out the next morning and see only a green stalk left. I planted a field of sunflower seeds and watched a mockingbird hop from one planted seed to the next, scratching up the seeds and making a meal out of my hard work.
I put up a rabbit fence, but somehow the little guy figured out a way back in. I was also planning to build a scarecrow, but was told that birds and animals soon figure out the scarecrow is bogus because it never moves. One day my husband brought home Billy. He’s cute and looks almost like a real scarecrow, except he really works!!! Billy now lives at the head of my garden. He spins with the gentlest of breezes and I haven’t lost any more of my tender seedlings.
My garden will be full, green and healthy now thanks to Billy and HQ Kites 🙂 If you would like a Billy for your garden he can be found at any of the local kite shops in your area.
