I have a new favorite website! It’s Goop.com, Gweneth Paltrow’s blog.
I fell in love with this website on my first visit there. The home page is so pretty! Look at this!
The thought and care that has been put into the look of this website touches my heart. I immediately clicked on everything. Then I signed up for the weekly newsletter.
I received my first newsletter today. I read it all the way through. I have to confess that I sign up for email delivery of a lot of blogs. There are only a few that I read all the way through. I surprised myself when I literally devoured the content. Someone has really done their homework.
This newsletter was all about organic makeup and beauty products. I recognized some of them, but others were news. One of the products I had used before and I didn’t even know it was organic! She even lists prices and most of them are very reasonable.
The first icon you see on the screen, the knife and fork, is called Make. This is all about food and recipes. Did you know that Gwyneth Paltrow just published her first cook book? I’ve seen her cook on a talk show before and I’ve heard her talk about cooking in different interviews. You just never think about someone as famous as her doing any cooking, but she does. And she’s quite a good cook too. Her new cook book is called My Father’s Daughter and it’s about family and being together, especially for a meal. I’m buying one!
The second icon is a bicycle and it’s called Go. This is all about her recent travels. She talks about what she’s doing there and makes travel recommendations. Perfect!
The third icon is a blouse on a hanger. It’s called Get. I know! I just love this! This segment is about clothing, skincare, shoes, gifts, stuff for kids, etc. There’s a segment on How to Build the Perfect Closet and other great advice on getting it altogether.
The fourth icon is Do, it’s a sliding board. In Do she talks about activities and plans for actually doing something. It could be taking care of yourself or making a difference in your community. There’s one on DIY Reflexology that I plan to check out this weekend.
The fifth icon is a butterfly and it’s called Be. I’ve read through the first parts of it and the connection I made was this is all about being a woman. It’s also about being your best self. Be will give you something to mull over, to think about and perhaps even change your life.
The final icon is called See and it’s a pair of binoculars. It’s a plethora of stuff to see, read, think about and to do.
Okay, that’s all I’m going to tell you about it for now. I don’t want to give too much away because you need to go and check it out. The best part of this blog, other than the look and the feel of it, is that she writes what is in here. And she’s great at it.
Don’t believe me? Then check out Goop.com yourself. I dare you to click away from it before you’ve opened and explored every nook and cranny first. You won’t be able to tear yourself away.
