Just because there’s smoke, it doesn’t always mean there’s a fire there, or even warmth. Sometimes it’s just a huge stinking pile of somebody’s toxic garbage that needs to be cleaned up.
You could be a good neighbor and try to help them clean it up, but I wouldn’t suggest that. If you do, make sure you wear gloves and a mask and try not to get any on you.
And never go there alone.
Always tell a good friend or let someone else you trust know where you’re going. That way if you get pulled into the drama of the garbage pile, they can come rescue you before it gets smeared all over you too and does any damage.
Sometimes being a good neighbor means just staying out of it and calling a professional to let them know what’s going on, so they can take care of it. But remember to be a good neighbor and keep an eye on what’s happening around you. A stinking pile of toxic garbage is everyone’s responsibility and they never go away if you just ignore them. They’ll just continue to get bigger and start hurting the people you love.
This has been a Public Service Awareness Message brought to you by a concerned and involved citizen of the human race. What’s smoking in your neighborhood today?
