Blogs I read and why I like them

love mondegreens

Usually an award happens and that’s when you can see new and interesting blogs pop up in the Reader, but today I wanted to just take a moment and talk about some blogs I personally like and why I always go back to them.

The first time I ever fell completely in love with a blog so much I wanted my blog to look just like hers, was when I found  Love Mondegreens. Now, I knew my blog would never look like hers. I couldn’t even come close to it, but she gave me something to aspire to and since then I try to model any recipes I post after her example. I’m still no where close to her talent, but it makes me feel pretty.

paulas pontifications

I found Paula’s Pontifications when I was writing my chapter story entitled Insanity. Reading her words was like hearing from a friend that knew exactly what I had gone through, because she had gone through something just as bad. Paula had already done all of the research and most of the healing process, so she became my guru the first time I found myself entangled with a sociopath. Paula’s writing is easy to read and she adds humor in all the right places while providing valuable life experience and solid knowledge on a subject that not many people know much about. She also writes about life in general and has another blog that is all about Yoga.

lisa kramer

Lisa A. Kramer, Woman Wielding Words was the first time I worked up the nerve to ask someone to write for my old blog. There is at least one of her older articles in the archive here on this blog. When you read her, it’s like having coffee and a conversation. She makes it real and she is passionate about her subjects. She is an accomplished writer and has the ability to mentor a fledgling until they learn to fly on their own. I recently read one of Lisa’s posts and she asked three questions and encouraged each of us to explore the other blogs that also answered the three questions in her comment section. I did that and then I thought..Wow! This is genius at work here! I discovered three new blogs that I added to my Reader.

So this is the start of something I would like to continue doing for a while. Every few days I will come back to this segment and choose a few more blogs I like and tell you why I read them. I am only going to pick a few at a time because I really want you to be able to participate and visit the ones I’m picking. Quality versus quantity. I have always been a proponent of supporting fellow bloggers and encouraging readers to branch out and follow as many great writers as they can. I had a segment I was doing on my old blog entitled Featured on Facebook. I would select a group of bloggers, tag them and then feature them on a Facebook page. It was a lot of fun! I think this will be as much fun, but a little more detailed because I would like to share my thoughts on why I read certain blogs and what prompts me to click on that Follow button.

I hope you find something here that speaks to your heart too. When you visit one of the blogs I have featured I would love to hear your thoughts about them. Enjoy!!!

Thank you! Sorry for the delay in getting over here to your blog. I’ve been taking a break from my writing and blog reading. Focusing on finding a new job and doing a 30-day yoga challenge (but you already knew about the later because I bombard your FB feed with my check-ins daily. Hehe!) My challenge ends on Tuesday. I’m just starting to get caught up. 🙂

  5. These are blogs I have been reading for years. They are just beautifully executed and put together. I am so happy you checked them out.

I think it's so nice to see your thoughts! Please share!
