Things that happen everyday

There are things in your life that happen everyday. I’m not talking about sleeping, breathing or waking up. I’m talking about activities and tasks you perform without even thinking about it.

One of my everyday tasks is making the bed. I even make my bed in the morning when I stay in a hotel. There is something about that one particular thing that gets my day going. I’m not sure if it’s the task itself, or what it represents to me, but I like doing it and so I do it everyday.

If I get ready for bed at night and the bed hasn’t been made, I will make it before I get in it. Now you might think this is a touch of OCD, but I know for a fact that I am not the only person that does this! Making the bed before you get in at night is a habit being performed by people all over the world. It’s just not talked about. Experts also claim that getting into a made bed at night actually helps promote a healthy night of rest. So for those of you that just giggled at me, eat shit.

You change your underwear everyday. Well, you’re supposed to and if you don’t, you might want to reconsider. Your underwear houses the area where you expel fecal matter on a daily basis. Ha! Look! Something else that happens everyday! Well, it happens for most of us everyday…defecation.

Recycling your underwear means that the entire day’s bacteria that might have made it’s way into your panties, is now off and running as it grows into something akin to the blob. Right there in your pants! It’s the world’s grossest science experiment happening. You have become a pertri dish! Think about that! It’s the perfect atmosphere for growing all kinds of ewwies. It’s warm, moist and has an endless supply of bacteria hallway it can attach to for sustenance. That would be your own anus. So the next time you have an itch you can’t scratch in public, think about changing your underwear everyday.

For you guys that go commando, your blue jeans or board shorts or even your mini skirts, are just as dirty.

If you’re just running around naked all the time, then carry a towel to use before you sit on the furniture. I read an article once that said the seats in movie theaters carry large amounts of fecal matter.

“This is a typical plate from one of these and all these raised looking things represent individual colonies of bacteria, and there’s just thousands and thousands of them on there,” Dr. Wallace says pointing out one of the petri dishes.

Those are gram negative rods, the stuff that can really make you sick.

“What I expected was skin organisms, the typical type of staph species things and those were almost universal in all the samples. You expect that because of people laying their hands on the seats,” he explains.  “What I didn’t expect were what we call stool organisms or fecal organisms.”

That’s right.  Hundreds of thousands of colonies of fecal matter.

Next time you head over to the box office, take your hand sanitizer. Oh, and for those of you not wearing underwear, every movie you see in a theater opens you up for ALL kinds of nasties from perfect strangers! You see, my panties give me a little bit more protection than you have.

I brush my teeth everyday. Some folks don’t have teeth for various reasons, most of them being because they didn’t brush their teeth everyday. I know this one guy that didn’t brush his teeth. He spent thousands of dollars to get all of his front teeth replaced with implants when his real teeth rotted and because he had implants he didn’t think they needed to be brushed either. Then he got gum disease so bad, that everything had to be pulled. Now he wears false teeth. Guess what…he doesn’t clean those either. I think people like that don’t deserve to be able to chew their food.

There are many things that people do everyday besides personal hygiene or home maintenance. They could include praying, working out, taking care of their families, etc. But everyone has a routine they follow that gets them from point A to point B.

I have been thinking lately about activities I could add to my daily routines to change it up a little.

One of the things I have been considering is upping the ante on my self-talk. Self-talk are the things you say to yourself everyday. It can be negative, or it can be positive. If it’s negative maybe this is something you can work on. Negative self-talk is very bad for your everyday life. You don’t need a Life Coach to tell you that.

What about your everyday routine? What happens in your life everyday and what could you add to make that day even more special? If everyone started making an effort to spice up their own daily lives, just think of the difference this could make all over the planet!

Today I think I am going to tell myself I’m skinny and look marvelous.

Since my surgery four weeks ago, I’ve added 3-5 sessions of stretching and strengthening exercising to my daily routine. These were designed for me by the wonderful folks at the Sutter Roseville Rehab Center, where I lived for two weeks. I’ve been home almost 3 weeks now, and haven’t missed a day of performing this physical therapy. SO, I’m going to continue to do them 3-5 times daily until I am fully healed, and then decide on what other exercises I can add to my daily routine. Walking sounds like a good place to start…
