I hope

I hope that no matter where I am in this life that I never forget to acknowledge someone that has reached out to me.

Because I know what it feels like to reach out to someone and get no acknowledgement at all.

I hope that wherever I am in this life that I never forget to be grateful, or to say thank you.

Because I know what it feels like to not be appreciated.

I hope that wherever I am in this life that I never forget the people that have always been my friends, no matter what.

Because I know what it feels like to think someone is a friend, and have them disappear because I am no longer considered viable or worthy.

I hope that wherever I am in this life that I cherish each and every moment, because truly, my life is a good one.

And because I know what it’s like to be hungry, to be lonely, to be broke, to be unemployed and to be ungrateful for the things I actually did have, but didn’t appreciate it when I had them.

I hope that wherever I am in this life that I am remembered well, while I am still alive.

I hope that I can feel the love of my friends and the people around me while I am still breathing and while I can tell them how good that feels…being loved.

Because I know how it feels to tell someone how much you loved them, after they have died.

Sometimes introspection brings out the very, very best in people. This is a very moving and meaningful piece. I love you.
