Every seven years marks an important anniversary for my husband and I.
Since we became a couple, every seven years I shred the it’sbeen7yearsandwedon’tneedtokeepthesepapersfortaxreasonsanymore pile.
What started out as one paltry folder of stuff with 2 different last names is now a huge pile of stuff with one last name. It used to be just bank statements, school loans and pay stubs and now it’s insurance, property taxes, investments, , receipts, old tax returns, paid bills and bank statements.
It used to take me 5 minutes to shred everything and now it takes me a few days because the shredder overheats.
Every 7 years I get to sit back with a sort of scrapbook of how far we have financially come together and even though I’m shredding those memories I can look forward to the next 7 years knowing we have grown together and made a life for ourselves.
Wherever you are in your own relationship, I hope there is some old papers there to remind you of progress and to make you proud of the goals you have accomplished…together ❤
WhAt lovely way to deal with taxes! 😊
