Homemade Sugar Cubes

sugar cubes

Mix 1 to 2 tablespoons of cold water with sugar and then pat down tight in a pan lined with wax paper or parchment. You have to score the wet sugar so it will break into cubes easier. These won’t be pristine perfect cubes, but they will look nice I found that a pizza cutter works great for scoring wet sugar. A butter knife just makes a mess. Let this dry overnight. The next morning you can break hardened sugar into rustic cubes.

There are mold you can buy to make cute sugar cube sculptures. If you want colored sugar cubes, add food coloring to the wet sugar mixture.

They’re easy to make and a lot of fun to serve to friends at your next tea party!!
