love, sorry, can’t help you

I learned a valuable lesson yesterday about how to deal with someone that tries to make you responsible for how another person is treating them. When an adult tells you “You have to fix this so they will leave me alone!” this is how you handle it…

“I love you with all of my heart, and I am sorry this person is treating you so badly, but I don’t deal with them anymore and their behavior is the reason why.”

Thank you to my lovely friend for always reminding me that I created strong boundaries and part of that is knowing that I am not responsible for fixing the problems adults are having because they choose to keep engaging someone that is toxic.
