I scream

I wanted to get this post out into the Interwebs before Halloween this year, but at least it’s out there before Halloween 2016. I want to talk to you about screaming! One of the best times of year to let your scream loose is Halloween. The scary costumes and haunted house tours guarantee your scream oodles of air time! There are all kinds of screams. Scary ones, angry ones and screams of pure joy. The ones of pure joy are my absolute favs! How awesome is it to scream just for the sake of screaming?! It’s one of the easiest and most accessible stress relievers available.

But screaming can be taboo.

Sadly, screaming is steeped in rules and regs. You can’t just scream for the fun of it anywhere you happen to be. Screams are behind closed doors, but not just any closed doors. For instance, I could safely scream my head off inside of my car in traffic, but if I did that in a hotel room, people would call the police and come running to find out what was going on.

Most of the time, screams are a built in human alarm signal. Screams let others know we are in distress and require emergency assistance. Isn’t that amazing?! Knowing this makes me feel so much safer because my scream is loud and blood curdling. How about you? If you had to scream for help, could you? When was the last time you tried your scream out? It never hurts to practice! You never know when your scream might save your life, or the life of someone you love.

Just about the only place you’ll hear my favorite kind of scream is in an amusement park, or a county fair where they have rides like The Scrambler. You might hear them at a rock music concert or a Bingo parlor. You could also hear them in the bedroom. Teehee! I’m not one to scream and tell, but I have been known to cut loose during a boisterous tickle fight! They are the best form of expressing excitement that I know.

Think about your own scream today. Screams aren’t always a sign of negativity and I support the inclination to hone our screaming abilities. Find yourself a private nook where no one will be alarmed and just cut loose! You might just surprise yourself with how much you enjoy letting one rip!

I scream! You scream! We all scream for ice cream!
