There are a few reality shows on television these days that capture my attention. One of the most intriguing is Vanderpump Rules. This show has captivated me, but not in the ways you’d imagine. I’m not watching it for the fashion or the hot bods. I love this show because it touches on some taboo subjects. It’s like watching a gnarly human experiment happen over the course of a few weeks.
Last season one of the show’s villains went on an apology tour. These apology tours seem to be the new norm for folks that love to piss other people off on a regular basis. I am not particularly impressed with anyone on one of these self gratifying tours and think their apologies are basic bullshit. This theory of mine proved right on the money with this girl’s tour.
It hit a big nerve with me.
You can watch the apology here:
If you watched the video then what you saw was a psychopath/sociopath, Kristen, apologizing for raining pure hatred on Ariana for months. She even wished Ariana would get hit by a truck and die. The underhanded rumblings and tirades this woman created are the stuff of nightmares. It was so hard for me to watch this unfold. I hated every frame of it. I felt like I was being battered right along with her.
When I watched Kristen’s apology and listened to Ariana’s response, I threw my fist in the air laughing with joy and whooped! Take that! You psycho! Take your apology and shove it where the sun won’t shine!
Ariana took a stand for so many of us that have silently suffered at the hands of bullies. She stood her ground and honored her convictions. She has given every one of us permission to listen to the insincere apologies and to reject them for the fakes they are. Worthless words that no longer hold water because the pain inflicted was beyond anything words could ever fix.
You don’t have to accept the hollow apology and you don’t have to act like nothing ever happened. Something did happen and it wasn’t kind or good. You can say No Thanks. Move on with your life and never feel an obligation to a bully, ever again.
Thank you, Ariana.
