You guys have all gotten those emails, chain letters or seen the infomercials; they keep you right on the edge of your seat thinking that any second now they’re going to reveal some long lost secret to success and happiness, but it’s just more of the same hooey!
“If you want to be successful, click here!”
I get the emails on a regular basis and they’re always about how to be a more popular blogger by driving more traffic to my website. Sure I’d love to have a lot of traffic! These emails suck me in every single time, and every single time I learn absolutely nothing that’s going to help me unless it’s going to cost me a monthly fee for the person writing the email to tell me the secret. Even then, I’m not so sure they’re going to tell me anything at all, or anything I don’t already know. What can I say? I’m a skeptic!
I’m also a little tired of crap like this. I now call it clickbait because there’s never an offered solution, just more of the same teasers, more of the same anticipation, only to be let down when it turns out to be bogus.
I honestly don’t think any of them have the answers.
This is what I really think is going on there. I think they want you to give them money. Who wouldn’t love that?! But I think they want to show you how to make your own “click here” teasers like theirs, so you can suck in your own desperate audience of clickers. Then they will make a small percentage off of the people you bring in. Then you entice your people to bring in more people and you make a small percentage off of their new people and your upline will make another small percentage and on and on and on.
The problem is that they do not have answers and stuff like this never works for very long, if at all.
Do you want to know what works? I’ll tell you and you won’t have to click here or wait for the answer or agonize over what I’m going to say next.
Here is what works:
Persistence and Drive
Accountability and Honesty
Belief in yourself
That last one is the most important. If you believe in yourself, it makes others feel safe in knowing that you know what you’re talking about and they are more likely to support your project. I am certain that persistence, drive, honesty and accountability are the keys to believing in who you are and what you’re doing. Work on those three key areas and whatever you pursue in your life will happen for you.
I have an idea for all of the click-here-toters…
Don’t click here. Click off and click you. Just go sell click to someone else. You haven’t clicked with me at all. I’m all clicked out.
Click ya later! 🙂
